This amazing weather is predicted to keep shining through the weekend! Expect mostly sunny skies, highs in the upper 50s, lows in the mid-20s, and slight winds from the West/Northwest. Next week might bring slightly cooler temps, but for now, these beautiful climbing days are sticking around. Make the most of it!

🔥 Fire Safety Reminder:

While we’re not under official restrictions, fire safety is critical with active fires raging in the south. Be vigilant if you’re having a fire to keep our area safe.
Don’t have fires on windy nights! 🚫💨
Obtain a free campfire permit (click here)
Keep your fire contained in established fire rings with a defensible space around it. Don’t burn paper or things that will blow away.
Fully extinguish your fire—douse with water and ensure it is fully out (cold to the touch) before walking away.

🤗 Weekend Events:

  • Saturday: Climber Coffee ☕️ at the Happy Boulders, 9–11 AM.
  • Sunday: Trail stewardship at the Buttermilks, 8:30–10 AM, followed by MoBiBo! @moderate_bishop_bouldering 💃💃Area Conditions:
  • Pine Creek: Perfect conditions! The canyon walls are sunny by 10 AM and shaded by 3 PM. Cyanide Cliffs stays sunny the longest. Don’t forget your helmet!
  • Tablelands: Warm, warm, warm in the sun ☀️
  • Buttermilks: Slightly breezier than the Tablelands, but winds should stay moderate.
  • Owens River Gorge: Great weather! Also, just a reminder to stay mindful of others below you when climbing—Don’t intentionally trundle rocks above trails or areas with other climbers. If rocks fall (accidental or not), remember to shout “ROCK!” loudly to warn climbers below.

The Bishop Area Climbing Rangers represent a collaboration among the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the Inyo National Forest (INF), L.A. Department of Water and Power (LADWP), Bishop Area Climbers Coalition (BACC), Bishop Chamber of Commerce (BCC), Sierra Forever (formerly Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association or ESIA), and Friends of the Inyo (FOI) to promote climbing conservation in the Bishop, CA, Area – specifically in Pine Creek, the Buttermilks, the Volcanic Tablelands, and the Owens River Gorge. Climbing Rangers will support local land managers and supporting organizations by performing a variety of tasks to preserve and maintain our cherished local climbing landscapes.
