“Desert Fish Tales” Children’s Book Reading and Signing

Join us for “Desert Fish Tales” at the Corn Creek Visitor Center. Children’s book author, Gisa Nico, will read and sign her book, Fish in the Desert: The Untold Story of Death Valley Pupfish. Saturday, Feb. 28, from 9:00am-1:00pm. This free event includes lots of fun activities for the whole family.
Event schedule:
10:00 am and 12:00 pm: Enjoy story time with children’s book author, Gisa Nico, as she reads her book “Fish in the Desert: The Untold Story of the Death Valley Pupfish.”
11:00 am: Participate in an engaging interpretive talk on unique desert fish and their conservation stories.
Drop-in anytime between 9:00am-1:00pm for these Desert Fish Tales-inspired activities:
• A fun self-guided scavenger hunt inside of the visitor center
• Coloring station inspired by desert fish
• Craft your own pupfish using recycled materials as a reminder of the importance of protecting fragile desert waters
Make a day of it! It is a wonderful time of year to explore the Corn Creek trails too.
