On Saturday, Sept. 28, join Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association, the U.S. Forest Service – Inyo National Forest, and our partners at the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center north of Lee Vining for a celebration of Public Lands that goes on all day as follows:
- 8:30 a.m. till Noon – Visit the different booths of various conservation and environmental protection nonprofits and government agencies to learn about the wildlife and ecosystems of the Mono Basin. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a nature stewardship project.
- From 2 to 4 p.m. – Celebrate the Mono Basin Scenic Areas’s 40th Anniversary! Meet past and present employees who work to protect Mono Lake and the surrounding Scenic Area designated lands. Listen to a panel discussion and have a slice of cake on the back patio of the Visitor Center.
