The Black-billed Magpie is a very social and vocal bird, easily identified by its bold black-and-white pattern with a blue-green shimmer and long tail; males and females look similar. They are opportunistic omnivores, known to prey on the nests of other birds and adapting to rural and agricultural areas where food is easily found. They frequently land on large mammals, such as deer and moose, to feed on ticks. 1.25″ Hard enamel pin; black metal.
