Description

The Monarch is the best known of all North American butterflies and has one of the most interesting migratory stories. The Monarch has a 4 stage lifecycle – egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa, and adult butterfly. There are 4 generations; the first is born in March to April; second is born May to June; third is born July to August; and the fourth is born September to October. All but the fourth generation live 2-5 weeks. The fourth, the migratory generation, lives 6-8 months. 1.25″ Hard enamel pin; black metal.
