What is the Sierra Forever Reading Challenge?
Join us this year for a reading challenge that will help you become a Sierra Nevada and Great Basin expert! Explore this dynamic and special region by reading books pertaining to topic prompts that are meant to help you dive into the human history, ecology, nature, and. tales of adventure in the Eastern Sierra and Great Basin. You can use this list of topic prompts casually or try and complete as many as you can to win prizes.
This challenge has 12 prompts, but complete as many or as few prompts as you’d like! Completing all 12 wins you a commemorative sticker and a 10% off coupon to use on a book at one of the Sierra Forever bookstore locations or on our online store! When you’ve completed your challenge, email us your checklist at along with your mailing address to receive your prize. Or visit us at one of our visitor center locations to claim your prize in person!
Consider joining our Sierra Forever Book Club as well to find a community of readers who are also passionate about this region and its stories, and to read some books together that would also fulfill prompts from the challenge. Each month we will choose one of the recommended books from a prompt to read and discuss. All book club meetings will be held virtually so you can join in from anywhere!
