Sign Up Here Join Alabama Hills Artist in Residence, Kristen Freeborn, for a free acrylic painting workshop for beginners and intermediates, recommended ages 10 and up. Kristen is finishing her residency for the Bureau of Land Management in the Alabama Hills National Scenic Area. She focuses on western themes in her work, primarily in the Sierra Nevada and surrounding deserts. She is excited to meet the community in the Owens Valley and invites them to join her lesson. November 18 from 10 am-12 pm | Sharks Fin Parking Lot, Alabama Hills Enjoy light instruction on composition, mark-making, and watercolor techniques from ESIA’s Interpretive Specialist, Ashley Anderson, in the scenic setting of the Alabama Hills! Choose your own subject while sitting amongst the rocks and take home your impressions of the Eastern Sierra.   Art supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. No previous experience required. Pre-registration is not required. Bring layers, comfortable walking shoes, water and snacks. Optionally, bring a portable camp chair or sit pad. Please allow extra travel time to account for detours in effect to get to the Alabama Hills. Ages 12 and up
